Building self-confidence isn’t about becoming someone else—it’s about embracing who you already are and letting that shine through. Whether you’re preparing for a boudoir session, stepping into a big meeting, or simply wanting to feel more empowered in your everyday life, these simple steps will help you quiet the doubts and step fully into your power.
Positive Self-Talk – The words you say to yourself matter. Just like what you eat affects your body, what you tell yourself (both in your head and out loud) affects your mood, whether you feel it or not. Replace negative thoughts like “I’m not good enough” or “I can’t” with empowering ones like “I deserve the best,” “I am fully capable” or “I will.”
Good Posture – Standing tall with your shoulders back and chin lifted doesn’t just make you look more confident—it also makes you feel it. Your body sends signals to your brain that say, “I’ve got this.” Even if you are uncomfortable, having good posture tells everyone around you that you know who the fuck you are and are owning it. Fake it till you make it if you have to!
Smile (even to yourself) – A smile can instantly shift your energy and mood. Even if it feels silly, smiling at yourself in the mirror releases feel-good hormones that build confidence from the inside out. Put on some blush and lipstick and force the smile until it becomes genuine.
Dress in What Makes You Feel Good – Whether it’s a perfectly fitted outfit, your favorite heels, that perfect pair of jeans or a piece of lingerie that makes you feel powerful—wearing something you love helps you radiate confidence naturally.
Working out- I’m not just saying this because I’m a personal trainer, but I also kind of am… because I know firsthand how much it helps with your confidence. Working out not only helps your appearance (muscles are sexy af) but more importantly, it helps your mental health and therefore gives you amplified confidence as a bonus.
Prep & Pamper – Confidence often comes from feeling put together. Fresh hair, polished nails, soft skin, or a touch of makeup can give you that extra boost to walk into any situation feeling unstoppable. Even if you are just going to the grocery store, dress like you care, because it shows.
Focus on Strengths – Instead of zeroing in on flaws, shift your mindset to everything you do well—your talents, personality, and physical strengths. Confidence grows when you celebrate what makes you unique. Be wildly passionate about what you love and confidence will automatically radiate.
Breathe & Relax – When nerves creep in, take slow, deep breaths. This calms your body, eases your mind, and helps you feel grounded and in control. Counting to 10 in another language or backwards can immediately turn your brain around and reset anxiety.
Own Your Space – Confidence is about presence. Enter a room (or photo session 😉) like you belong there—because you do. Take up space, stand firm, and don’t shrink yourself down or find a corner. Don’t apologize for yourself, own who you are and you will receive respect in return.
Practice Gratitude – Confidence grows when you’re thankful for your body, your journey, and your progress. Instead of wishing for perfection, focus on appreciating what you already have while working towards your goals. You are allowed to love yourself while also working to improve yourself.
Trust the Process – You don’t need to have all the answers or be perfect. Confidence is about showing up as you are, trusting yourself, and allowing the experience to bring out your best. Growth never comes from comfort zones and a life without growth is not a life. So be confident with yourself, learn to be uncomfortable, learn to be ok with failing and eventually, confidence will be a natural trait that you wont have to think about.
